Introducing PLNY: Poland's First Native Digital Złoty
Poland's first native digital złoty stablecoin and the foundation of European financial sovereignty.
Today marks a significant milestone in the journey toward European financial sovereignty. We are proud to announce the launch of PLNY, Poland’s first native digital złoty stablecoin, and the foundation of what we believe will become critical infrastructure for the future of European finance.
The problem we’re solving
The global stablecoin market is dominated by US dollar-denominated tokens. While these serve an important purpose, they create a dependency on American financial infrastructure and leave European users (particularly those in non-eurozone countries like Poland) without native digital currency options.
For Polish businesses and consumers, this means unnecessary friction: converting between currencies, paying FX fees, and navigating regulatory uncertainty. PLNY eliminates these barriers by providing a stablecoin that is native to the Polish economy.
How PLNY works
PLNY maintains a 1:1 peg with the Polish złoty through a straightforward mechanism. Every PLNY token is backed by actual PLN held in segregated accounts at regulated Polish banking partners. Third-party auditors verify the reserves on a regular cadence, with attestations published publicly. Users can mint or redeem PLNY at any time, ensuring the peg remains stable. The whole stack is built to MiCA from day one.
No fractional lending, no algorithmic mechanism, no exotic engineering. The reserve does the work; the contract just makes it programmable.
The stablecoin triangle
PLNY is the first piece of a broader picture. Together with EURY (Euro) and USDY (US Dollar), the three form a complete set of digital currencies enabling seamless value transfer across the most important currency pairs for European users.
That triangle is what makes the rest of the stack viable. Liquidity flows naturally between currencies. DeFi protocols can quote yield in any of them. Real-world assets can be denominated in the native currency of the buyer rather than translated through dollars.
What’s next
The launch of PLNY is the beginning, not the end. Over the coming months we’ll be rolling out the savings and swap surfaces inside the Olbra app, the first tokenized real-world assets, and the on/off ramps that make all of this usable for everyday payments, not just on-chain experiments.

Financial sovereignty matters: for individuals, for businesses, and for nations. PLNY represents Poland’s entry into the digital currency era on its own terms, with infrastructure built by Poles, for Poles, and for all Europeans who share the same view.
